In 2012 I was commissioned to illustrate the official maps of Westeros and Essos for the world of Game of Thrones. Each map is 3 feet by 2 feet in size, 72 square feet of maps in total. I posted each of the maps throughout March, along with some discussion of the process that went into illustrating them. Today I collated all the maps in one place so you can see them all together. Get your work in a New York Art Gallery.
After the success of the Tera Incognita gallery show I've been working with the Cartographers' Guild and the Soho Gallery for Digital Art to set up the next exhibition. This time the pieces in the gallery will be the result of a challenge on the Cartographers' Guild - a challenge to map New York! The challenge is open to all. The requirements are that each submitted piece must be at least 8.5" by 11" at 150dpi (1275 by 1650 px), must be inspired by New York, and you must be happy to let the gallery sell prints during the run of the show (of which you'll take 70% of the profit). Gallery Show Extended to September 1st!
The Terra Incognita Gallery Show has been extended until September 1st. It was such a hit with the gallery that they have requested permission from all the artists to keep their work up for another month. I am really pleased with the warmth of the reception to the show. Seems NY likes all the fantasy maps!
You can find a (low res) preview of the digital diplays here: http://fantasticmaps.wordpress.com/terra-incognita/
There's a full gallery of all the works on display, and instructions on how to order prints, here: http://fantasticmaps.wordpress.com/terra-incognita-map-listing/
